The River is Not a Safe Place
This adventure is the sequel to ‘The forest is not a safe place’ (Tallowbrook), in which a small troop of Manan soldiers are tasked with escorting a dangerous sorceror along the South Tar to Thunderwharf for trial.

Character Guidelines
Level: 4
Ancestries: All common except for Goblin.
Classes: All common.
Characters should be one of the following:
- Manan soldiers living in either Harper Falls or Thunderwharf.
- These soldiers will report to a Captain, who reports to a Duke.
- Commercial river transport crew (sailors) that operate the South Tar.
- These are expected to have combat experience due to the dangerous section of river between Thunderwharf and Corsastor.
- Citizens accused of non-violent crimes who are being transported without restraints.
- A noble catching a ride, or taking a personal interest in the transport of a prisoner.
Other character options are allowable upon request.
Items: Characters may start with 1 3rd, 2 2nd and 1 1st level common mundane or magic item, as well as 30gp to be spent on common items. In addition, each player will recieve one minor healing potion (1d8 hit points).

The Cage
The prisoner you have been tasked with transporting has been placed in a specially designed cage to prevent escape via means of magic. The cage is made from iron, with a relatively thick layer of lead. It is 10ft by 15ft and weighs over 2 tonnes.
The box also has an embedded anti-magic field, emanating 10 feet around a crystal embedded into the top.
A good padlock is used to secure the door, five successes at DC 30 are required to pick it. The DC to Force Open the door is also DC 30 (this uses the lock’s DC).
The box has a the following material properties: Hardness: 18 Hitpoints: 72 Broken Threshold: 36
